The Old Sacramento Waterfront shopping district is a great destination to shop, dine, or just to spend a few hours in the city. This historic district was designed to reflect the history of the Golden State. Visitors can visit the Old Sacramento Waterfront schoolhouse, the Sacramento Railway Museum, and a variety of tourist shops and eateries. A large neon sign with the name Old Sacramento Waterfront is planned for installation.

Hotel proposed for Old Sacramento

City officials in Sacramento have unanimously approved the plan to build a new hotel on the Old Sac Waterfront.  Mayor Steinberg applauded city staff for their work on the project. The city also has a long list of potential hotel tenants for the area.

The hotel would be a big asset for the Old Sacramento waterfront and the city as a whole. The state parks department is gathering input on design guidelines and programming for the hotel.
