Sacramento Children’s Theater has been a staple of the city since the 1940s, and the theater’s transition to Fairytale Town in fall 2013 continued that tradition. Since the founding of the theater, it has worked with community volunteers to develop a range of quality shows for young audiences, including backstage helpers, actors, and costume sewers. The theater has performed for nearly 18,000 elementary school children since 1940, and the program is free for elementary school children.
